A successful history in value creation
The Kahma Group’s founders were the instrumental architects in the Litha Healthcare Holdings (Pty) Ltd merger with Myriad Medical ( Pty) Ltd in order to create one of South Africa’s most successful, leading, diversified healthcare companies, Litha Healthcare Group Ltd, which was previously listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. It is this very successful experience that places the Kahma Group at an advantage as far as operating within an emerging economy like South Africa.
Guided by passion and expertise
The Litha Healthcare Group developed organically under the leadership of Selwyn Kahanovitz as CEO together with a committed group of executive and non-executive directors namely Martin Kahanovitz, Morena Makhoana, Georgina Mhlongo and Nkululeko Sowazi who are all founders of the Kahma Group. The group further embarked on an acquisition strategy that included a group of companies amongst others Pharmaplan ( Pty) Ltd, PharmAfrica ( Pty) Ltd, OTC Pharma SA ( Pty) Ltd and Goldex Healthcare ( Pty) Ltd.
During this tenure the business grew turnover from less than R 100 million to over R 1.5 billion through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth. During its period as a listed company the company generated a compounded annual growth rate of 28,9% before being acquired and delisted in 2016
Amongst its achievement, The Litha Healthcare Group was listed 42nd in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies in 2014. The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies event recognises the best-performing JSE-listed companies, based on their shareholder returns and performance over a five-year period.
